    Dear Sumner Neighbors,

In these challenging and frustrating days, we hope this message finds you well and that you will stay well.  As you know, every aspect of our daily routines is changing minute by minute, from school activities, meetings, social occasions, business affairs, and religious activities, to the way we think about what we should do tomorrow, or even in an hour.  You have had plenty of advice about washing your hands and other precautions and we won’t repeat any of that.

This note is just to let you know that your Board is well aware of the need to keep in mind the need to factor into our decisions the realities of the coronavirus and its impact on all of us.  Remember to check our website (www.sca.wildapricot.org) and we will put information in the listserv that you should know.

In addition to approaching this crisis with civility and awareness of the precautions and actions to get through these troubling days,  we need to be aware that some of our neighbors may need assistance.  Be available, to the extent possible, to help your neighbors.  If you have a neighbor who is elderly or in need of assistance, check on them. They may need errands, trips to the pharmacy, some groceries, a ride somewhere.   We can supplement what Little Falls Village does for our people in our community who need help.  Just letting our neighbors know that we are available if needed can be a significant and appreciated gesture.   In years gone by, a neighbor-helping-neighbor philosophy sustained many communities experiencing stress and that philosophy will work today as we struggle with the stress and anxiety caused by coronavirus.

Stay safe and thank you for all you do to make this community great.  Take care of yourselves and take care of your neighbors.

Rich Landfield, for the Board of the Sumner Citizens Association (Marsha Barnes, Donna Collins, Endre Esztergom, Nancy Klothe, Helen Berns, Nora Denbo, Asher Lipman, Susanna Gebhard, Owen Kirby)
